Carlsbad High School will be having its Commencement Ceremony for the Class of 2017 on Thursday, June 15th at Swede Krcmar Stadium. The processional will start at 4:15 pm and the ceremony will begin promptly at 4:30 pm. Gates will open at 2:30 pm. It is open seating and there are no reserved seats in the stands. Umbrellas, signs, balloon bouquets or any other item that obstructs the view of spectators are prohibited. Noisemakers of any kind are not allowed as well. The 47th Annual Spirit of the MACY Awards have chosen Ben Little and Alexis Dytko as finalists for Best Performance by a Leading Actor or Actress in a Musical for their performances in the Carlsbad High School Musical THE DROWSY CHAPERONE. The winners of this category will be The Spirit of the MACY Award ’s Best Actor and Actress and will be sent toNew Yorkfor the The Jimmy Awards (National High School Musical Theatre Awards) June 18 – June 27, 2017. Ben and Alexis will also perform at the awards ceremony on May 28 at noon at the Segerstrom Performing Arts Center in Costa Mesa.

The City of Carlsbad is responsible, eager, creative teen volunteers ages 15 to 19 to become Summer Arts Camp Counselors (SACC) for our camps programs. Volunteering during our Club Pelican or Creative Arts Camp programs is a fun way to spend part of your summer and a great way to learn about various types of art forms, working with children (and adults) and a great way to gain experience. Dear Seniors Parents, Did you miss the Grad Night deadline and didn’t get a ticket for Disneyland? You are in luck, Disneyland just released 25 more tickets to us for the night. If you are interested in purchasing a ticket, it will be on a first come first served basis .
