Carlsbad High School Community: Have a safe and happy Memorial Day Weekend! MARCHING LANCERS’ COLOR GUARD AUDITIONS: Join the award winning Marching Lancers' Color Guard! Auditions Tuesday, May 24 - Thursday, May 26. 2:45 - 4:45 p.m. in the Carlsbad High School Band Room.Learn the routine and skills needed for a successful audition. Bring water, clothes you can move in (no sandals, jeans, skirts, etc.) and a GREAT attitude! Expect to dance (no dance experience necessary) and make new friends!Being a member of color guard provides PE and Fine Arts credits. Email for more information. DINNER TONIGHT? GRADUATE SCOREBOARD PHOTOS: CHS PTSA is sponsoring an opportunity for 2016 graduates to have an individual or family photo (or both!) taken in front of the CHS football field scoreboard.For $10.00, the graduate/family will be given an appointment and the scoreboard will display the graduate’s name and photo as it will be displayed during the Commencement Ceremony.For $20.00, during the same appointment, the scoreboard will display the Commencement Ceremony message AND one additional custom message (25 characters or less).Photos will be scheduled for late May or early June.To reserve an appointment, fees will need to be paid to the PTSA by Friday, June 3 .A PTSA representative will be on campus in the PTSA office June 3 with forms and to collect the fees from 7:00 – 8:30 a.m. and from 2:00 – 3:00 p.m.For those unable to be on campus on June 3, you can email your request or any questions to . In memory of Lori, teachers at CHS have established the Lori Peacock Memorial Scholarship for a CHS senior who is going on to a higher institute of learning in the area of science and/or math. Our goal is to raise $2,000 and we are close. Donations can be sent to Kevin Simonds in the CHS ASB finance office or myself, Andrea Lambert, at CHS. Carlsbad High School Community: BALLET FLATS FOR PROM: Ladies, did you know that you will not be allowed to remove your shoes at the Prom and dance barefoot? PTSA has a solution for that. Order a pair of reusable ballet flats that come in atravel pouch. We are taking orders for them and will hold them for you at the dance until you need them. For just $10 you can save your tootsies. and return to the ASB office and we will take care of the rest. PLEASE DONATE TODAY AND TOMORROW FOR STAFF APPRECIATION WEEK: This week is Staff Appreciation Week, and PTSA would appreciate your donations of drinks and desserts to the luncheon that will take place Friday, May 13 to honor all of the outstanding staff at CHS. Donations can be brought to the front office Thursday afternoon (May 12) or Friday morning (May 13) by 10:00 a.m. Thank you! SPRING MUSICAL: Carlsbad High School's actors, singers, dancers, musicians, and technicians present the 2013 Broadway version of Rodgers + Hammerstein's CINDERELLA on May 12, 13 and 14 in the Cultural Arts Center. Reserved seats are $15 for the 7:00 performances, with special matinee tickets at $10.00 for the May 14 matinee at 2:00. The CAC Box Office opens on May 2 at lunch and after school for ticket purchases. It's going to be A Lovely Night!!
