CHS ASVAB Registration Now Open

The 2021ASVABregistration is now open to juniors and seniors, and will be on April 21st from 7:30-11:30am in the CHS Library. TheASVABis one of the most researched and respected aptitudetests in the world, and is a great tool to help students identify strengths, explore career options, and get help deciding on a college major. For our students interested in military pathways, this functions as their militaryentrance exam. Students can sign up through the link embedded in the flyer, or through this link below. CHS Speech and Debate named So Cal Champions!

CHS competed at the Southern California National Speech and Debate Qualifiers this weekend and won the Southern California Debate Sweepstakes and Southern California Over-All Sweepstakes. Special congratulations to our So Cal Policy Debate Champions Connor Lynaugh and Noelle Planchon and National Extemp Champion Nate Watts! Reminder: For graduation, the gold cords, tassels, and stoles do not indicate GPA, they are for longevity in CSF and NHS, which students need to activelyapply for each semester/year respectively. CHS Hybrid Reopening Information

Hopefully by now you have seen Dr. Churchill’s to the communitywith news of the CUSD secondary school reopening plans for the coming week. We have received approval to begin our transition to the Hybrid Schedule on Tuesday, March 16 . Please carefully review the summary of this week’s schedule below and note the differences between grade levels. Included below you will also find a list of important items to be completed prior to returning to campus and some additional notes for specific programs. Please remember the simple practices that will help us all make this a successful transition: wear a face covering, wash/sanitize hands frequently, maintain physical distancing from others, stay home when you are sick or feel that you may be getting sick. It’s been a long road to get back to even a limited level of reopening and it will take all of us (students, staff, and families) to make it a safe and successful step forward. Thank you! 9th grade and 10th grade: On Monday, March 15 (periods 1, 3, 5), all students continue with Distance Learning On Tuesday, March 16, Cohort A will meet on campus for periods 2, 4 and 6 (Cohorts B C continue Distance Learning) On Thursday, March 18 and Friday, March 19, Cohort B will begin the 2-day per week hybrid schedule (Cohorts A C Distance Learning) On Monday, March 22 and Tuesday, March 23, Cohort A will begin the 2-day per week hybrid schedule (Cohorts B C Distance Learning) 11th grade and 12th grade: On Monday, March 15 and Tuesday, March 16 all students continue with Distance Learning On Thursday, March 18 and Friday, March 19, Cohort B will begin the 2-day per week hybrid schedule (Cohorts A C continue Distance Learning) On Monday, March 22 and Tuesday, March 23, Cohort A will begin the 2-day per week hybrid schedule (Cohorts B C Distance Learning) Beginning March 22, and for future weeks while we’re in a hybrid model, the schedule will be as follows: Cohort A (all grades 9-12): on campus Monday and Tuesday Cohort B (all grades 9-12): on campus Thursday and Friday Cohort C (all grades 9-12): Distance Learning Advisory and Distance Learning on Wednesdays Hybrid Reopening To Do List: Review the CHS Hybrid/Distance Learning Review the Complete the (if you have not already done so) Review the Return to Campus Check schedule and room numbers of classes. For information on how to check your cohort assignment, schedule, and room numbers in the Aeries portal, see p. 15 of the . Please note that some teacher room assignments have changed since the beginning of the year. Additional Notes: Small group cohorts for students that have already been coming to campus will continue for all grades on Monday, March 15. Monday will be the last day of those groups and all students will transition to the Hybrid schedule on Tuesday, March 16. Special Education programs that have been operating on campus since late September will continue on the same in-person schedule (including Wednesdays) that they are currently on.
