CHS Speech and Debate Wins 1st Place Sweepstakes!

Congratulations to the CHS Speech and Debate Team for winning top honors, 1st Place Over-All Sweepstakes, at this weekend's Winter Classic Tournament. Over 50 schools from 4 states competing in 17 events, and we are #1! Among the many awards, a special congratulations for closing out Parli Debate Finals and Presiding Officer finals (all finalists from CHS) and to Ed Burns for winning Advocacy Champion (again).

Bank of America Internship Opportunity

The Student Leaders program from Bank of America connects qualifying high school juniors and seniors with paid summer internships that have a focus on serving the community. In addition to an eight-week internship working with a local nonprofit, each student will attend the Student Leaders Summit in July 2020 in Washington, D.C., with travel expenses paid by the program. Envision 2020 Engineering Conference -Registration Now Open!

Envision 2020 is UC San Diego’s Society of Women Engineers’ annual, free all-day conference that educates high school girls about career possibilities in engineering and computer science. The day’s program will include guest speakers from industry and academia, hands-on computer science and engineering activities, lab tours, and a project team fair at the UCSD Jacobs School of Engineering. Envision will be held on Saturday, February 8th, 2020: 8:00 am to 4:30 pm. Sign-ups are open now! Sign-ups are available at: There is no admission fee for Envision and there are explicit directions on the website to help guide the registration process. Free continental breakfast and lunch will be provided. Attached are the waivers that you will need to fill out prior to the event. You will NOT be allowed to participate in Envision 2020 without your signed waivers. Please bring your signed waivers (hard copy) with you to check-in on the day of the event.
