The Carlsbad Hi-Noon Rotary is offering scholarships to assist graduating Carlsbad high school students, or residents of Carlsbad who attend high schools outside of Carlsbad Unified School District. There are two types of scholarships being offered this year. The first is for students who plan to attend an accredited two-year or four-year college, or university. The second is for students who plan to study at an accredited vocational college, trade, or technical school. This is an amazing scholarship opportunity forCHS students, so don't delay! The Carlsbad Equality Coalition (CEC) will be hosting a speech competition for middle/high school students across Carlsbad. Students are asked to write and recite a 1-3 minute speechanswering this question: What does belonging mean to you? CEC will be offering a$500 scholarship for the 1st placewinner of the competition, and a $200 scholarship for the 2nd place winner. The competition happens in two stages. The first is an online submission via YouTube, in which students will need to send us a 1-3 minute recording of their speech. From there, we will choose10finalists byMarch 2nd, 2023. The finalist competition will be hosted in person in Carlsbad atPilgrim Church on Saturday,March 18th.
